Presidents message 10/31/08

Hello fellow NTNOA members

I hope everybody enjoyed this years rally and our Grand Marshall Denis Manning.

Attendance was down this year, but we were still successful. The rolling concurs was a hit, we had at least sixty participants and it looked like everybody enjoyed the course. As this was the first year of the event we mostly wanted to see how it would work before next years 25th anniversary rally. Some changes will be made but for the most part I think the organizer Dean Baker got it right. So get your bikes ready for next year as we will have first second and third prizes. And I would like to extend a special thanks to Phil Dansby of Up in smoke for sponsoring this years event.

Congratulations to Laura Keating for winning our inaugural event with her wonderful 1975 BMW R90S! By the way next year (2009) all motorcycles manufactured in 1979 and older will be eligible.

Our next event is the Cycle World international bike show in Dallas Nov.14, 15, 16. Many thanks to all the members who have volunteered to man our exhibit during the show.

Our next meeting will be at RPM cycles Nov.30. It is supposed to be at there new location but they may not be ready so keep a close eye on the web page. For those of you that don’t have or know how to work the internet (Ward Hogue) have your kid or grandkids check it for you.

Last but not least this years Christmas party will be at Mercado Juarez in Dallas Sat Dec 20. Social begins at 4:00PM DINNER AT 6:00pm, see you there.
