Our August Club Meeting was

at
BMW Motorcycles Of Fort Worth
1503 West Hurst Blvd.
Hurst TX, 76053

Gregg Holt hosted our club's August meeting with the same enthusiasm he did last year.  Once again Gregg personally fired up his grill and cooked hamburgers and hotdogs with all the trimmings.  As expected, this was one of if not the best meeting we've had since the last time we met at Gregg's dealership.  Thanks Gregg.

Dean started the meeting outlining some of the steps the Club Officers have taken to make the upcoming Lake 'O the Pines (LOP) Rally the best ever.  The club purchased a commercial 750 watt PA system, a 10' x 20' registration canopy with side skirts and a 10' x 10' canopy for the Bike Show registration and awards ceremony along with some commercial grade fold-up tables.

Dennis Tackett briefed us on the status of the Save Our Streamliner (SOS) Project.  The Project is on track for its debut at the Bonneville Salt Flats in two weeks.  Painting has begun and it should be finished in plenty of time for the Salt - well finished anyway.  The Texas Cigar will also be on display (along with at least one other (maybe two) famous Norton powered racer at the LOP Rally.

Bob Hagemann mentioned that the club dues are due this month and that our next meeting at Captain Commando's is an excellent time/place to renew and pre-register for the LOP Rally.  The annual dues are still only $15 for existing members.  However, starting in January new members will pay $30 and receive free club T-shirt.

Dave Howe briefed us on the availability of SOS T-shirts, patches and decals.  They will be available at the LOP Rally.

Gregg working hard to feed us all.
