The location for our September meeting was changed from Capt Commando's Palace for the Pasta Party to Pappas Bar-B-Q due to Hurricane Rita. The decision to change venue had to be made by Thursday when it looked like North Texas would receive up to 20 inches of rain. Fortunately for us the storm moved further to the east. Unfortunately we received absolutely no rain on Sunday and a record high of 102 degrees.
Our treasurer, Bill Keating was there taking membership renewals and pre-registering folks for the LOP Rally. If you haven't already renewed your membership (annual renewals are due August 1st) please due so. The renewal form can be found here.
Bob Speer reported that Big Cyprus Marina benefited from tropical storm Rita. There was a lot of rain but not enough to cause erosion or other problems.
Dennis Tackett was there handling raffle bike tickets. Tickets are five dollars each or five for twenty dollars. Most were buying five. Raffle bike tickets will be available at the rally. The drawing will take place during the awards ceremony on Saturday afternoon. Dennis announced that our October meeting will be at McClain's RV Superstore on Saturday, 29 Oct.
